Aye Stay

19th April 2024:

I have stayed in many B&Bs over the last 40 years but Aye Stay is different. It has an air of professionalism, both when booking and in the subsequent communication which is not common in other such establishments. Upon arrival, I found the check-in system so simple and made my way to my room, a single room for one night. My expectations were not high, so I was delighted to find a well-furnished and fully equipped room with an en-suite bathroom with the feeling that everything was new. The location is very quiet yet central and close to all the amenities of Inverness. Breakfast was ordered via a QR code and the breakfast choice is vast with a generous offering of items for either a Continental or Scottish breakfast. The dining room is well laid out and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, the two girls who served breakfast were so pleasant and rounded off the best B&B experience ever, highly recommended, and a place I shall return to whenever in Inverness again.

WOW what a beautiful guest house ! Everything was perfect, the guesthouse, the room, the staff, the breakfast, everything ! The house is well located to get to Inverness center. Everything has been extremely well thought out, from the decoration, to the cleanliness of the rooms, the comfort of the bedding and all the little touches such as the little note for Check out accompanied by biscuits. We were really delighted with your guest house and at this price, it’s just incredible! congratulations ! keep it up, we would love to find more accommodations of this quality during our travels. We can only recommend you 200% to all visitors to Inverness our only regret is that we only stayed there for one night! Thanks again !

The bed and breakfast is absolutely lovely and the sweet woman who was working when we arrived was so concerned to hear about our plans being canceled due to the flood warnings that she spent 15 min or so giving us info on alternate activities and brochures. We ended up having such a great time thanks to her.

Aye Stay is the perfect place to stay if visiting Inverness or surrounding areas. Located in the city centre, it's great for the shops and restaurants. The room was spotlessly clean, lots of hot water and a very comfortable bed, great choice of breakfasts and lovely, friendly staff. This would be our guest house of choice if we needed a stopover when visiting Inverness in the future. Highly recommended. 5*

A gem for us was finding Ness Walk. We had an amazing evening stroll along the river.

We had an excellent stay. The B&B is beginning from the Entrance through the the whole Building very well furnished following a line that matches colours and interior. We felt directly very welcome through the obvious Care from the Owners for their Business. Our Room had the same welcoming, absolutely spotless clean welcoming interior, where we had an great goodnight sleep, throughout the Quietness in the B&B. The Room had everything that you need for your Stay, especially the extra Pillow were nice. The Bathroom was well maintained with a great Shower, Beauty products and soft Towels. The included Breakfast is to Order over an QR code or on Paper in the Reading room. The Breakfast was fresh served and tasted amazing. We appreciate the hard lovingly work on a daily basis from the Staff and the Owners, to give there Guests the best possible Experience for an welcoming and relaxing stay. We were very pleased with the Service and will definitely looking forward to be your Guest again and will recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful stay with Aye Stay. After a long day of travel we received a warm welcome and were helped to our room. Roberta gave us a dinner recommendation and good directions on how to get there. Breakfast was wonderful. Everyone was pleasant and eager to help us and answer any questions we had. On our last morning Roberta booked us a taxi to get us to the train station and packed bags of breakfast for us to take with us. We highly recommend Aye Stay for anyone coming to Inverness.

Can't fault Aye Stay for our purposes of Etape Loch Ness and proximity to city centre. We would definitely return whether doing the cycle event or not.

This was a very last minute booking for one night and oh what a superb find! We were both disappointed we couldn’t stay longer, we’ll definitely be back! Our stay at Aye Stay was fantastic!!! Roberta and David were the absolute best hosts, so friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The decor throughout is so cute but so tasteful and all their recent renovations make it even more beautiful. From the little Nessie out front to the hairy coo key holders to the little library room, every space has something to explore and find the little hidden details. The breakfast was also fantastic and David and Roberta helped give little suggestions to help make our plans for the day. The location is also fantastic for us. Set away from the business of the city but only a 10 minute (beautiful) walk to downtown and restaurants. One of our favorite stays of our trip!!

Wonderful Inn conveniently located minutes from the Town Centre. Beautifully decorated with unique pieces that made the stay even more enjoyable. The rooms were large and very comfortable. Aye Stay is very well run with attention given to every small detail. Breakfast choice was excellent, bed comfortable and room spacious. Decor is spot on. A quiet location given it is only a ten minute walk into the city centre. Thoroughly recommended

Town museum and gallery is well worth a visit as is the Black Isle. Would recommend booking restaurants in advance if eating in the evening. If using buses be aware that they are likely to leave from different bays to that stated, we witnessed people missing their bus as a result of this

Ended our cycling trip with an overnight at Aye Stay before catching the train home from Inverness. We were able to safely store our bicycles in an outhouse. Room and facilities very comfortable and well cooked breakfast. Only a short walk in to town centre.

Nice riverside walk nearby and some of the better of restaurants and bars very close without going in to city centre. Also Eden Court Theatre. Cycled to railway station in 5 mins.

We arrived and the call buzzer inside was helpful in having David greet us and share some insight for our stay. Good option to complete a breakfast card (or submit online) for timing and choices. Breakfast was over the top! Breakfast room one of the best we have seen in design and layout....beautiful decor. Outside gardens lovely.

Room 7 was comfortable and had all the amenities needed. Not a large space so we would book a larger room next time. We enjoyed our visit to Culloden Battlefields and the Clava Cairns. Beware that the route to Balmoral south of Inverness is tricky but spectacular and worth it to make the visit.

We stayed here for Etape Loch Ness. We chose it as it was close to the start and also had a good selection of rooms for non family groups e.g. 3 mates needing their own bed! This place was perfect. Not only close to the start but even closer to the finish and event area. The owners Roberta and David were brilliant and made us breakfast very early before the race…… and made sure we could get a shower after our event. The place is very clean and tastefully decorated. Staff very friendly and the breakfast was superb. We will book again. Thank you!

My dad and I had a superb night at Aye Stay! The room was super clean and we loved the decoration as everything was to the detail which made our stay as Scottish as possible. Our room was quiet and our night was restful after a long day travelling. The reading room was a welcome treat whilst waiting for breakfast. All the scan code were super useful full of tips and easy to use to book our breakie. Breakfast was an absolute delight with a lot of choice and plenty of scottish delicassy. Of course, we took a full scottish breakfast so can't commnent on the continental one but everything on our plate was veey tasty. We will recommend everyone to go to Aye, it was perfect!

We had dinner at Prime along the river (we booked a few hours prior) and we would recommend. Lovely menu and service was excellent! If you zre a wiskey lover, the malt room is a must!

Lovely and comfortable place to stay for your holiday. It was perfect for 7 of us and our little dog. It can accomodate more than 7 adults as we did not use the single bedroom. We drove 12 hours to the house and we were happy to see 3 parking spaces. You will find everything you need in the house and there are shops nearby; the house is walking distance from the city centre.

I recommend walking to the city centre to see a little bit of inverness, also Loch Ness is 8 minutes drive. We drove 1 or 2 hours for all our other destinations such as Eilean Donan Castle and Ben Nevis. Also do not miss the seafood shack which is 1 hour drive.

We had never stayed in a guest house prior to booking with David & Roberta, all our breaks over 30 year's had been in hotel's. Having looked at reviews for "Aye Stay" we decided to give "Aye Stay" a go, all I can say is we made the right choice. David & Roberta made us feel at home from the first minute, their knowledge of what to do and where to go in Inverness certainly helped make our 3 night stay a break to remember. "Aye Stay" guest house is a gem of a place to stay, nothing is too much trouble for David & Roberta. The room we had was immaculate, well maintained, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast had options to suit everyone's taste, food served was quality produce and is just what's needed to set you up for the day. Choosing "Aye Stay" has certainly changed our mind about guest house's although I'm pretty sure not all are to the standards set out by David & Roberta. The safety measures David & Roberta have put in place during these difficult time's due to Covid 19 ensure when staying there you feel safe. "Aye Stay" is perfectly situated within easy walking distance of the city centre and all amenities, we will definitely be returning to "Aye Stay" as our highland getaway home from home. Take the short drive to Dores for a fantastic view from the shore of loch Ness. Enjoy the walk along along the banks of the river Ness, visit the "island's" along the walk. Fort George is a short drive away and well worth a visit. Enjoy some wonderful scenery on the drive to Ullapool and back.

It's in a beautiful tranquil location, just off the banks of the River (which has great footpaths), just a few minutes walk from the city centre. Roberta and David were helpful in arranging dinner reservations and giving us ideas of activities in the area. One of our favorites was the short walk down to the little islands on the River Ness. The room was very comfortable in every way and the breakfast was delightful. You cannot go wrong with choosing the continental breakfast or the Scottish breakfast. Both were delicious!

We enjoyed walking around Inverness while window shopping and enjoying the nature of the area. The train station is a reasonable walk but is so worth the less than 6 pounds to take a local taxi with our luggage. We loved eating lunch, three days in a row, at a nice sports pub called Platform 8. It is just to the left of the entrance to the train station. Great lunch deals and delicious food. We enjoyed a movie and a concert at Eden Court Theater which is just a 3 min walk away. Nice facility and reasonable prices. We can't wait to return for our next adventure of driving the 500 mile journey around the northern coast. Inverness will be our anchor for this trip.

A perfect bed and breakfast. Only issue was we did not spend enough time in Inverness to hang out and explore the town. Our bed was comfy, breakfast was large and delicious. No need to order more than one meat as the portions are big, which is saying something considering we are Americans. Lovely, helpful couple with baby and dog, who are also both friendly.

Walk into town is easy and along a nice flowing river. Ped bridge fun way to cross river. Isle of Skye took us most of day to get there and back but enjoyed the scenery and road trip through tiny back roads. Wished we had made it to our dinner at Mustard Seed, had a tasty meal and pub music at MacGregor's the other night. Thanks again!
