From arrival which we were a little earlier than expected, we had a warm welcome from Kevin who took us through our rooms and explained where everything was and how it worked. There was even a box of treats for our dog who was made very welcome. The 3 bedroom family unit was ideal for our group and we only wish we had booked longer as it was so clean comfortable and welcoming to stay at Furan. In the morning we met Janice the other and I would say the main part of the team running this wonderful B&B. We had pre booked a time slot and food choices for breakfast the night before which was all very easy. The breakfast cooked and served by Janice was amazing, we all had the full delicious Scottish breakfast and cereal friut juices and never ending hot drinks. This meal was freshly cooked and better than most 5 star hotels provide. Janice was an amazing hostess, friendly, comical, helpful and such a warm personality. We will definitely stay at Furan next time we visit Inverness and for longer next time.
Tips:There is free of street parking at Furan. The B& B is in a great location very quite but close to local eateries and the city. Kevin was very knowledgeable about the area and answered all our questions about Inverness and gave us some great tips. A big plus for us was that it is very dog friendly.

We had a lovely stay at Furan Guest House for one night before we headed back home. A lovely guest house with wonderful hospitality from the hosts. Breakfast was fantastic too!
Tips:Furan Guest house is in a quiet location approx 15 minute walk into the centre of Inverness where there are shops, cafes and restaurants to choose from as well as nearby Loch Ness where you can take a boat trip to Urqhurt Castle, nice walks along the River Ness too, also Culloden where there's a visitor centre telling about the history of the Battle of Culloden in 1745, to name a couple of things of interest to do while in the area.

Janice and Kevin run a lovely B & B. Janice was full of good tips and was a pleasure to talk to in the morning. Our room was comfortable and the breakfast tasty. Bathrobes were provided which was a nice touch since our bathroom was across the hall. We would most definitely return here. 5 stars!
Tips:This B & B is roughly a 20 minute walk into town center. There are some hills so it's not a flat walk. We always felt safe. Be sure to check out The Highlander Bar for food and live music. First come first serve so no reservations required. We also enjoyed our walk along the river and across the pedestrian bridge. If looking for items MADE IN SCOTLAND, goto Judith Glue.

Our family had the most delightful stay at Furan Guesthouse. Janice is such a thoughtful and helpful host, and our clean and comfortable rooms fit our family of five perfectly well. Itās difficult to find accommodations that are suitable for a family with children, and we definitely appreciate places that cater to families. The outside garden area is very pleasant, and we loved being able to read and snack outside. Janice had so many helpful suggestions for our travels, and her cooled-to-order breakfasts are fabulous! Many thanks for a lovely stay.

You were both excellent to stay with and to get to know. Your hospitality was par excellence, and made both of us feel welcomed. We truly appreciated your generosity and personal care and touch that you put into both our stay and experience. Our very best to you both!
Tips:My cousin and I meticulously planned our trip to Scotland, the sights, the whisky, pubs, people, and all it had to offer while leaving time to really take it all in. The one thing we could not have planned, even in all our research and due-dilligence, is to come across Furan House. If you want all of those experiences in one well-kept, very hospitable package, Furan House is it - without question. I'm not easily impressed, I feel as if you pay for something, a certain level of service or standard of experience should be expected. Not here - these folks re-write what your expectations of service and experiences should be. Simply incredible. First review I've written in either the states or abroad - these folks quite simply are par-excellence in everything they do. From their hunting down the very best farm to table Scottish fare, personal touch on the morning breakfast - it will fill you up for the entire day I assure you, simply nothing I can think of that they could do better . . . . perhaps a full whisky bar? Book them - I will be when I return, no question.

Janice provided information for visiting, called a taxi for us, had great conversations. She made us feel truly welcome and prepared to make the most out of our visit. We will be back during out next trip to Scotland.
Tips:The B&B is a little farther out of town but still close enough to walk to all the sites, no problem. Great value. We felt safe and very much enjoyed our time at the Furan House. Parking is a little tight, but don't let this keep you from staying here. It is a MUST for travel to Inverness.

Itās not just the big things such as a comfy bed, cleanliness and a great breakfast, but the little things that made our stay a great experience. From finding a welcome chocolate in our pillows when we arrived to the shower kit we found in the bathroom and our host asking how was our previous day every morning, which gave it such a homely feeling. It was great!
Tips:Triquerta Crafts in Victorian market is a good place to find souvenirs made in Scotland. The Malt Room is a great place to have a drink as well as Black Isle. The Whisky Shop staff are glad to talk to you about whiskyās ins and outs. The Youngās Aulde Sweetie Shop is great and you can just pick up a variety of sweeties and mix them, also, the staff are glad to explain to you what each one is. We would totally recommend this accommodation to other travelers. Itās cosy and spacious at the same time, the hosts are amazing and the location was perfect for us. It was a bit of a walk to the center but we enjoyed it since we had sun in Schotland! Breakfast was excellent, many fresh foods what was the best start of our day. We also had the chance to try some good haggis! The only comment we can think of is the duvet, for us personally it was too warm. We prefer a thinner duvet and some separate sheets for example in case it gets cold. But in the end 10/10!

The Furan is a beautiful house with the added bonus of the three bedroom extension which was perfect for our family holiday with our own front door to accommodation, the house itself is set within a quiet street and has the added bonus of a beautiful garden where we enjoyed the evening sun after a busy day. Tips:Had trouble booking restaurants when we were there because of covid and limited hours. So went to Revolution first night on walk in basis. For the more discerning book early if you want the smaller restaurants like the Tapaz or the Italian just by the castle. If going to Culloden book up in advance to avoid disappointment. Tips:Itās a lovely spot 10 minutes drive from Fort William. Far We ate at the Larroch hotel where the meals were amazingly good. We caught a regular train to Mallaig on the same line as the Jacobite train, as you need to book well in advance if you want to catch the steam Jacobite train.

The 3 bedroom suite was ideal for our family circumstances as we were staying with a mixture of children, and 3 adults one of which is registered disabled and requires 24hr care and support. Was suitable for a short stay, but due to lack of space for a private sitting room or suitable space for dining in the suite would not have suited us for a longer stay. Breakfast was great and owners were friendly and helpful.

My daughter and I stayed in Room 4, which had a double and twin bed and an adjacent private bath. The room was quite comfortable and clean, and the bath was large and furnished with great bath products. The breakfast was incredible, and we quite enjoyed our talk with our host as we ate. Our only regret, which was true throughout our week in Scotland, was that we could have stayed longer!
Tips:Located in a residential neighborhood, an easy 15-minute walk to the city center. After walking to Inverness Castle and having lunch at Castle Tavern, we strolled along the River Ness and crossed over the river to visit the Botanical Gardens. After walking back to the guesthouse, however, we found ourselves unwilling to return to the city center for dinner that night. Luckily, we discovered a couple of good dinner possibilities nearby the guesthouse (well, 1/2 mile away). Tip: Plan ahead and make dinner reservations whenever possible, or be willing to eat in the bar, which is a different experience, and also fun.

We absolutely loved the place and Janice's hospitality! She made our family feel very welcome in her home especially going above and beyond for my almost 2 year old daughter. She provided a lovely travel cot for her, an adorable matching set of child-sized towels, and a brand new highchair for our visit. The family suite was perfect for me and my husband, our two young children, and my parents. Everyone had their own sleeping space, but a shared little kitchen where we could do some quick meals on the cheap. The breakfasts were huge and wonderful. Janice gave us great ideas of what to see and do in the area with directions on how to get there. If we are ever in the area again, we will be back!
Tips:MacGregor's bar has an awesome whisky tasting along with a bit of Scottish history and live music from the owner on Mondays and Thursdays. Such a unique experience! Also had wonderful drunken mussels for dinner there after the tasting. Culloden Battlefield is very moving and well worth the trip.

My brother and I stayed here for two nights and it could not have been any better!! The Furan place is perfection! Our rooms were so nice and well furnished. Most of all I loved our host she went above and beyond. From the amazing breakfasts to helping us by driving us in the rain to Culloden. I would come back and stay here every time. Itās an easy walk down town as well. Look no further you should book here!
Tips:There are a lot of great places. Zizzi was a great restaurant down town. Maybe a 15 minute walk on the waters edge. Take a detour and go by the castle it only adds 2 more minutes. Bars, hootenanny was my favorite! Also try Johnny foxes both have live music and a blast. The Inverness cabs are super nice and get their number and save it on your phone they will pick you up wherever! Must see Culloden battle field and the Loch Ness boat tour. We had the best time!

Tips:Highly recommend The White House and the ivy for a nice meal with top notch customer service. Both offer a lovely menu and well priced and lovely food and great dining experience with lovely cocktails. Johnny foxes was excellent at there Hogmanay party and personally the best place we visited that night entertainment/staff wise other than the ivy. Personally would avoid hootenanny at new year and would be very warey of attending any paid events due to the way there new year party was with closing the bar over the time of the bells (personally will be contacting the local tourist board to complain about that )

The facilities are immaculate, the location convenient and the hosts friendly and helpful, very personable. We were once hesitant to stay in B and Bs, preferring instead the anonymity of a hotel room, but experiences like the one we had at Furan completely changed our way of thinking. The experience has a personal touch that is unparalleled. If we were to travel again to Inverness there is only one place we would stay and that is Furan.
Tips:Inverness is a small city, but it makes an excellent point of departure for trips into the Highlands. We circled Loch Ness, hiked in Glen Affric (gentle trails) and Strouie Hill (its a hill, so naturally its an arduous climb). Strolling around the city is scenic, the castle looms over the downtown area and is easily accessible on foot. There are quite a few restaurants featuring everything from pub meals to Italian (lots of these) and even Turkish. The Filling Station was a nice stop.

Kevin and Janice were terrific hosts. Pleasant conversation, great food and a tidy B&B that mixes old Inverness and new Inverness in style. We had an emergency while there and Janice new just what to do and just where to go. Being a foreigner and a visitor to the city, I much appreciated her calmness in this stressful situation. I hope to get back sometime for another visit. I give them my highest recommendation!
Tips:Dunrobin castle is a great place to visit. Be sure and catch one of the falcon displays. Worth the hour drive. Hootenanny's pub has good keg ale and live traditional music. We went there a couple of times and were never disappointed. Johnny the Fox's was another place I'd recommend with great ale and good food.

Great welcome from the hosts, very friendly. They pay attention to the guest in order we feel like at home. The rooms ae very confortable and very clean. (the only small "bad" point is the size fo the bathroom which is small). The breakgfast is excellent. Thank you very much.
Tips:Center is around 20 minutes walking. I recommand the restaurant The Corriegarth which offers a good quality for a reasonable price, 10 minutes far from the guest house. I recommande the boat tour on the loch Ness (Jacobites cruise). We took the 2 hours tour (30 minutes on the loch, 1 hour to visit the Urquhart castle (there is a 10 minutes movie in english, ask for the french subtitles), and 30 minutes on the loch to come back.
